Electronics and Communications Engineering

The department of Electronics and communication Engineering is the oldest department of the faculty of electronic engineering. The department offers a program leading to a B.Sc. degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering. The technical course offered by the department covers the field of electrical and electronic circuits, electronic measurements, very large scale integrated circuits, microwaves and antennas, analog and digital communications, satellite communications, optical communications, and mobile communications. The courses are assessed on a semester basis.

 

Objectives:

The mission of the department is to achieve the following objectives:

  • Prepare specialists in the field of electric engineering who are well-equipped with foundations and implementation methodologies that enable them to meet both the challenges & development in engineering technologies.
  • Conduct theoretical and applied research in the field of electronic engineering, and communications which contributes to the process of economic development in the society.
  • Hold conferences, workshops, as well as national and international seminars in the fields of electronic engineering and communications.
  • Hold agreements with similar institutions and organizations on the local, regional, and international levels to exchange experience and conduct joint research in the field of electronic and communications engineering.
